It might be a little late (just a week) but it still applies. Training has been going well! I’ll just say ultra training is night and day different from training for Ironman. Watch the video to find out more!
February is already half gone! WOW! This week also kicks off week three of four in the build cycle. Last week was a tough one. Friday, Saturday and Sunday were three nice sized days considering it’s only February. Friday was a 3000 yard swim and bike, Saturday was a mentally difficult treadmill run with intervals […]
February…. Are you flipping kidding me. January, where did you go buddy? Alright. None of that matters now. What matters is training! In the second month of training things are about to get really different. Different from anything I’ve ever done. Different from all the other years of training. This year I’m training with power […]
So this week marks the second official week of training of the year for me. It was also the first full week since before my last Ironman. I think I can sum up the week in one word, HUNGRY! Or starving, which ever you prefer really. The past week went great overall with three runs, […]

NO! OK, all kidding aside there are many good reasons not to train while you are feeling ill. I myself am way under the weather at the moment and while it kills me to miss days of training I think it may actually kill me to train.
Rest days, those words sound wonderful to anyone in training. As important as rest days are some people don’t seem to take advantage of them to their fullest. Many training for an Ironman take a rest day as simply a day you don’t have to workout but they can be so much more.
2.4 miles of swimming. That stat in itself seems near impossible for many people. Heck, it seemed like that to me just a few months ago. Now closing in on block 2 in my training it doesn’t seem so bad. See today for one of the first times I tracked an hour long swim without […]
